- 1 package active dry yeast (.25 ounce)
- 1 cup of hot water
- 12 cup flour (all-purpose)
- 4 garlic heads, peeled
- 2 cups extra virgin olive oil, or as needed
- 1 tablespoon oregano, dry
- 1 tablespoon basil leaves, dried
- 1 tsp marjoram (dried)
- 1 tsp. sage (dried)
- 1 teaspoon of nutritional yeast
- 3 cups tomato sauce, smooth
- 12 finely sliced little red onions
- 1 peeled, pitted, and sliced avocado
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Step 2
In a large mixing basin, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Allow 5 minutes for the yeast to soften and begin to develop a creamy foam. Combine flour and yeast in a mixing bowl and stir until the dough comes together. Knead the dough for 6 to 8 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a bowl and cover with a cloth; set aside for 30 minutes or until the dough has slightly risen.
Step 3
Toss peeled garlic cloves with olive oil, oregano, basil, marjoram, and sage in an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Step 4
30 to 40 minutes in a hot oven until garlic is softened. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
Step 5
Brush a baking sheet with a thin coating of cooled olive oil mixed with herbs, then distribute the dough onto the oiled baking sheet. Brush the top of the dough with extra oil and herbs.
Step 6
Using a garlic press or a fork, mash the garlic cloves in a basin; mix nutritional yeast into the mashed garlic. If the mixture is too dry, add more of the herbed olive oil. Combine tomato sauce and garlic in a mixing bowl. Spread the sauce all over the dough. Serve with red onion slices on top.
Step 7
Bake for 10 to 20 minutes in a preheated oven until the crust is crisp. Place avocado slices on top of the pizza.
